Sportster Frame Modifications
Life's a bitch... Thank God there's Harleys...
To improve the looks of our Ironhead oldschool hardtail Bobber we made the Sportster frame modifications as shown on these photographs. We cut off the stubs behind the shock absorber bolt holes. This will create a more even flow of the lines of the stock harley frame into the top braces of the bolt on hardtail subframe that we are going to mount.
Note the black cut lines.
Here T is handling the angle grinder while L keeps a watchful eye.

L used a Vernier caliper to measure the required size of the bolt holes.
We are probably going to fix the hardtail subframe to the stock Harley Sportster frame using a pair of sturdy 16mm bolts.
